1. WTF??? Where were my aliens?

2. Okay, seriously, did Chris Carter just dive into a bin of rejected episode ideas and decide to make it?

3. Aliens? I want aliens!

4. With such a rich history to draw on, why did they pick this storyline, then not even explain why the freaking villains were where they were, and how they got from Russia to the U.S.?

5. If you're going to bother to bring in evil Russian doctors, why in the hell can't you bring back Krycek?

6. NEEDS MORE ALIENS. NEEDS ANY ALIENS.

7. Sucked. Big time.

Oh no! Russians and no Krycek? WTF??
I was going to go see it on the general principle that I should know the entire "canon", but now I don't know if I want to spend $10.50 to be grumpy. Hmm.

I think there were both good and bad elements to the movie. Ultimately, I liked it, but I knew going in that this was going to be a "monster of the week" movie, not a mytharc-based movie.

To talk about what worked for me is to talk about fan-service. There was Mulder. There was Scully. There was the FBI in all their glorious asshatery. There was Amanda Peet in a state I kinda liked seeing her in. To say what else I liked would be to give away the things that would make you enjoy it.

What didn't work - Scully's secondary storyline seemed to have no point and took up entirely too much of the running time, which did "feel" long.

The character played by rapper Xilblizkit (or however you mangle the English language to spell it properly) went nowhere and ultimately had too much screen time for that.

The bad guys were confusing in SO Many ways that I think we missed the subtlety of the storyline. If there was any...there's one element that seemed to be Chris Carter going "oh, goody, I don't have to worry about network censors anymore," which is a really lame reason to do anything.

But then again, there's my icon....
