If you're a Mac user like me, and have had trouble connecting to Y!M with Adium, here is the fix:
To solve this problem:
Open Preferences, Accounts.
Select your Yahoo account and click the "Edit" button in the lower right corner.
Open the "Options" tab.
Change the login server to 66.163.181.189.
Click "OK".

You are very welcome! Adium was about to drive me out of my MIND! What kills me is that I had to go looking through their bugtracker to find the fix - they didn't just post it on their homepage, which is SO going to cheese people off big time. They have a great product, but their support is sadly lacking. :P
